Cardinal: Communion Received Kneeling and on Tongue Most Reverent

Lima, Peru, Sep 22, 2009 (CNA).- In a homily Sunday at the Cathedral of Lima, Cardinal Juan Luis Cipriani said, “The most respectful manner of receiving the Eucharist is kneeling and on the tongue. We must recover the respect and reverence that the Eucharist deserves, because the love of Jesus is the center of our Christian life. The soul is at stake.”

During his homily the cardinal explained that this is the most solemn form of receiving Communion and those participating in the Mass followed his recommendation as they approached to receive the Eucharist.

He also encouraged the faithful to participate in Eucharist adoration in the more than 70 adoration chapels that have been built throughout the Archdiocese of Lima since the Year of the Eucharist, thus making the Peruvian capital a “Eucharistic city.”
“Lima is a Eucharistic city with more than 70 chapels of Eucharistic adoration, where the Lord is exposed and where you can speak to Him, because He listens to you and helps you. We need to adore Him and allow our hearts to be filled with the joy and the beauty of His wisdom,” the cardinal said.

SSPX priest celebrates Mass in St Peter's in Rome

The sensation is that there are finally signs that point to a return to Catholic normalcy.

The Prior of the SSPX House of Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, Father Marcus Jasny has celebrated Masses in St. Peter's in the Old Rite.

The SSPX referrto this in a report on its website about a pilgrimage to Rome of graduates of the Schöneberg High School for Girls near Bonn.

Neustadt an der Weinstrasse is a town in Rhineland-Palatinate in southwest Germany.

The students visited the Eternal City, 24 August to 2 September.

In the morning at 7 clock Fr Jasny "could" celebrate the Mass in St. Peter’s - the report on the website of the SSPX states- at "that mysterious, quiet time of daybreak in St. Peter's, before the arrival of the torrents of tourist."

The paleo- liberal Swiss news agency 'Kipa-Apic' complained about the Latin Masses in Rome.

The person responsible for arranging Masses in St. Peter's said that there was no written request from the Father for the period concerned.

But it is possible that a priest can ask in the sacristy directly for an opportunity for celebration. Whoever presenting evidence of priesthood and asking for a Missal for the traditional rite, does not get a negative response.

Even already in the Jubilee Year 2000, the SSPX was able to celebrate during their great pilgrimage to Rome - at that time even under Pope John Paul II - a prayer service in St. Peter's.

Liberty for the Latin Mass.

Equality between the "extraordinary" and "ordinary" forms- putting to one side that the extraordinary form is in a superior class of its own.

Fraternity directed towards those that seek to attend or celebrate the Latin Mass.

There again perhaps more Faith, Hope and Charity should be preferred to all things and charity above everything.

If Cardinal Lehmann wants to live the principles of the French Revolution, he should give greater mind to the consequences.

The Last Gospel According to St John

This is the Last Gospel according to St John. It can be found in the John 1

The Last Gospel usually recited at the end of every Mass. Here is it:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him, and without Him was made nothing that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men: and the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness to give testimony of the light, that all men might believe through him. He was not the light, but was to give testimony of the light. That was the true light which enlighteneth every man that cometh into this world.

He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them He gave great power to become the sons of God: to them that believe in His name: who are born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

AND THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
