The Last Gospel According to St John

This is the Last Gospel according to St John. It can be found in the John 1

The Last Gospel usually recited at the end of every Mass. Here is it:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him, and without Him was made nothing that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men: and the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness to give testimony of the light, that all men might believe through him. He was not the light, but was to give testimony of the light. That was the true light which enlighteneth every man that cometh into this world.

He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them He gave great power to become the sons of God: to them that believe in His name: who are born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

AND THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

St Joan Of Arc

Saint Joan of Arc EXCERPTS FROM WIKIPEDIA.COM(French: Jeanne d'Arc; c. 1412 – 30 May 1431) is a national heroine of France and a Catholic saint. A peasant girl born in eastern France, she led the French army to several important victories during the Hundred Years' War, claiming divine guidance, and was indirectly responsible for the coronation of Charles VII. She was captured by the English, tried by an ecclesiastical court, and burned at the stake when she was nineteen years old. Twenty-four years later, the Holy See reviewed the decision of the ecclesiastical court, found her innocent, and declared her a martyr. She was beatified in 1909 and later canonized in 1920.

Joan asserted that she had visions from God that told her to recover her homeland from English domination late in the Hundred Years' War. The uncrowned King Charles VII sent her to the siege at Orléans as part of a relief mission. She gained prominence when she overcame the dismissive attitude of veteran commanders and lifted the siege in only nine days. Several more swift victories led to Charles VII's coronation at Reims and settled the disputed succession to the throne.

Joan of Arc has remained an important figure in Western culture. From Napoleon to the present, French politicians of all leanings have invoked her memory. Major writers and composers who have created works about her include Shakespeare, Voltaire, Schiller, Verdi, Tchaikovsky, Twain, and Shaw. Depictions of her continue in film, television, video games, song, and dance.

For me, She is really someone worth admired at. Very conscious about sins and wanted to get confessions as soon as possible. She is young and have the courage to lead a battle. She wanted her soul rather than saving her body when she was about to be burn during her trial. She rather accepted it than rejecting her God. Truly a magnificent girl which does not exist only in books or stories but a real and actual happening in the history of France and in the whole world. She is worth to be admired.

Calling Him "Bro"?

It is odd calling Him "Bro" or a slang word for Brother. In Philippine Local TV Drama Series aired On ABS CBN entitled: "May Bukas Pa" (In English There is Still Tomorrow). The story is similar or perhaps based on the story or Marcelino Pan Y Vino(IMDb) which was a religious story. May Bukas Pa is in our local Philippine language and might be available in other countries through the internet. The Cast of the show namely Santino (Zaijan Jaranilla), Enrique Rodrigo (Albert Martinez), Malena (Dina Bonnevie), Mario (Tonton Gutierrez),Selda (Precious Lara Quigaman), Cocoy (Rayver Cruz), and many more. Santino as the main Cast portrayed by Zaijan Jaranilla is a kind-hearted but clever young boy. Longing for the love of his real mother, he will find a friend in mysterious person he calls as ‘Bro.’ In the story, Santino appears to be some kind of a little saint who shows miracles in places nearby. He healed many sickness and perhaps casts out demons ( I don't watch the show, I saw only previews). Many people are inspired by his simplicity and humility and most of all his being childlike. Unfortunately, I noticed that the mysterious person whom he call "Bro" is someone we are familiar with. In the story, the mysterious "friend" of Santino appeared to him dressed like Jesus Christ who also have a would in his palm marked by nails. Obviously, we think of that mysterious friend of Santino as Our Lord Jesus Christ. But why is Santino calling Him "Bro"? that is odd. Below is the photo of Santino ( Zaijan Jaranilla). Here is the synopsis of Marcelino Pan Y Vino (excerpts from http://www.imdb.com/)

Marcelino is a young boy who lives with monks in a Monastery. One monk told Marcelino never to go up the stairwell of the onastery. But, Marcelino went upstairs, out of curiosity to see what was there. He sees a a big crucifix in the room, and puts out bread andwine, and miraculously, Jesus appears, comes down from the cross and eats. He talks to Marcelino, said he was a good boy, and told Marcelino he could have one wish. Marcelino wishes to see Jesus' mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and Marcelino's mother. Jesus says he has to fall asleep in order to get his wish. Marcelino falls asleep on Jesus' arm. Marcelino bears the vision of The Blessed Virgin and his mother. The monks then realize that Jesus came down to talk with the boy, and believe it was a true miracle. Jesus gave the boy the name "Marcelino Pan y Vino": "Bread and Wine."

Sign the Letter of Support for Pope Benedict XVI!

Appeal from plain Catholic faithful.

This letter gathers different Catholic faithful, from different tendencies, who wish to support the pope in his brave gesture. The authors of this site assure you of the complete confidentiality guaranteed to the names of the signatories, the list of which will be transmitted only to the Holy See.

On January, 21st, You decided, Holy Father, to put an end to the excommunication which pressed on the bishops of the The Society of Saint Pius X. By this brave gesture, You acted the Good Shepherd of the flock entrusted to You by God.

We are men and women invested in the life of our city, we are fathers and mothers with a family or unmarried and, after stormy times, when "the boat seemed to take the water everywhere ", we wish to build with You the Church of tomorrow with its Tradition for a foundation. This project includes inevitably the transmission of the Faith to the future generations, by the love of the Catholic Liturgy and by the defence of human life.

By this letter, we wish above all to express to You our deep gratitude. Although Your historic gesture has been met with hostility and confusing opinions from certain media and persons, it arouses in us a tremendous joy and fills us with Hope. We prayed for Your intentions, according the request You made at the beginning of Your Pontificate: " Pray for me, that I may not flee for fear of the wolves.(1)"

We wish, by affixing our signature to this letter and indicating our age and the number of our children to say to You that with You, we want to build Christendom for the generations which will follow us, hoping wholeheartedly that future Christians will be self-confident and will proclaim to all the World the Credo.

So, in a spirit of filial respect, we bring You our support and our daily prayers for the pursuit of Your Pontificate, that God's Church will may emerge increased by it.
