Korean Slain for Bible Distribution in North Korea

The execution of 33-year-old Ri Hyon Ok in Ryongchon is impossible to confirm given North Korea's tight security.

SEOUL, South Korea (Zenit.org) - Human rights activists in South Korea are claiming that a Christian woman was executed in North Korea for distributing Bibles. They reported that her parents, husband and three children are being detained in a political prison.

The report of the June 16 execution of 33-year-old Ri Hyon Ok in Ryongchon is impossible to confirm, given North Korea's tight security. The mother of three was also accused of being a spy for South Korea and the United States, and of organizing dissidents, the Associated Press reported.

The human rights group report included a copy of Ri's photo ID.

The report also said North Korean officials tortured Seo Kum Ok, another Christian, accusing her of spying on a nuclear site to give information to South Korea or the United States.

The Associated Press said it was uncertain if Seo, 30, survived. Her husband and two children are now missing.

North Korea officially protects religious freedom. However, in practice, the Communist regime severely restricts religious practice. There are four-state sponsored churches, but native North Koreans are not allowed to attend their services.

Still, some reports estimate that as many as 30,000 North Koreans practice Christianity underground.

This is a living proof of the existence of communism after all the misconception that communism has been suppressed by every government even at Russia! Well, open your eyes, communism is not only on those places but it is also everywhere!!

Motu Proprio Ecclesiae Unitatem

VATICAN CITY, 8 JUL 2009 (VIS) - Given below is an English-language translation from the Italian of the Apostolic Letter "Motu Proprio data" of Pope Benedict XVI, "Ecclesiae unitatem". The document concerns the structure of the Pontifical Commission "Ecclesia Dei" which deals with questions involving the Society of Saint Pius X and which as of now becomes dependent upon the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. The original text of the Motu Proprio is written in Latin:

1. The duty to safeguard the unity of the Church, with the solicitude to offer everyone help in responding appropriately to this vocation and divine grace, is the particular responsibility of the Successor of the Apostle Peter, who is the perpetual and visible principle and foundation of the unity of both bishops and faithful. The supreme and fundamental priority of the Church in all times - to lead mankind to the meeting with God - must be supported by the commitment to achieve a shared witness of faith among all Christians.

2. Faithful to this mandate, following the act of 30 June 1988 by which Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre illicitly conferred episcopal ordination upon four priests, on 2 July 1988 Pope John Paul II of venerable memory established the Pontifical Commission "Ecclesia Dei" whose task it is "to collaborate with the bishops, with the departments of the Roman Curia and with the circles concerned, for the purpose of facilitating full ecclesial communion of priests, seminarians, religious communities or individuals until now linked in various ways to the Society founded by Msgr. Lefebvre, who may wish to remain united to the Successor Peter in the Catholic Church, while preserving their spiritual and liturgical traditions, in the light of the Protocol signed on 5 May last by Cardinal Ratzinger and Msgr. Lefebvre".

3. In keeping with this, faithfully adhering to that duty to serve the universal communion of the Church, also in her visible manifestation, and making every effort to ensure that those who truly desire unity have the possibility to remain in it or to rediscover it, I decided, with the Motu Proprio "Summorum Pontificum", to expand and update through more precise and detailed norms the general indications already contained in the Motu Proprio "Ecclesia Dei" concerning the possibility of using the 1962"Missale Romanum".

4. In the same spirit, and with the same commitment to favouring the repair of all fractures and divisions within the Church, and to healing a wound that is ever more painfully felt within the ecclesiastical structure, I decided to remit the excommunication of the four bishops illicitly ordained by Msgr. Lefebvre. In making that decision my intention was to remove an impediment that could hinder the opening of a door to dialogue and thus invite the four bishops and the Society of Saint Pius X to rediscover the path to full communion with the Church. As I explained in my Letter to Catholic bishops of 10 March this year, the remission of the excommunication was a measure taken in the field of ecclesiastical discipline, to free individuals from the burden of conscience constituted by the most serious of ecclesiastical penalties. However it is clear that the doctrinal questions remain, and until they are clarified the Society has no canonical status in the Church, and its ministers cannot legitimately exercise any ministry in the Church.

5. Precisely because the problems that now have to be examined with the Society are essentially doctrinal in nature, I have decided - twenty-one years after the Motu Proprio "Ecclesia Dei" and in keeping with what I had intended to do - to reconsider the structure of the Commission "Ecclesia Dei", joining it closely to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

6. The Pontifical Commission "Ecclesia Dei" will, then, have the following configuration: (a) The president of the Commission is the prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. (b) The Commission has its own staff, composed of the secretary and officials. (c) It will be the task of the president, with the assistance of the secretary, to submit the principal cases and questions of a doctrinal nature for study and discernment according to the ordinary requirements of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, and to submit the results thereof to the superior dispositions of the Supreme Pontiff.

7. With this decision I wish in particular to show paternal solicitude towards the Society of Saint Pius X, with the aim of rediscovering the full communion of the Church. To everyone I address a pressing invitation to pray ceaselessly to the Lord, by the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, "ut unum sint". From Rome, at St. Peter's, 2 July 2009, fifth year of Our Pontificate.

Bishop Williamson allegedly criticises Motu Proprio.

From Radio Vatican German service.

The majority of the Lefebvristes are against an agreement with the Pope. So said Richard Williamson, the controversial bishop of the SSPX. As the Italian daily La Stampa quoted him, the recent motu proprio is a 'poisoned cake ". The declaration of the Pope should be thrown in the bin, according tp Williamson. - On Wednesday, Pope Benedict XVI had prohibited further acts of the SSPX such as the ordinations to the priesthood in Zaitzkofen. In the letter, the Pope united the "Ecclesia Dei" Commission, who is responsible for the SSPX, to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. With the new papal decree Benedict XVI has created the canon law structure for SSPX dialogue with the Vatican. The motu proprio of the Pope is entitled with his Latin words which begin the document "Ecclesiae unitatem "(The Unity of the Church).

Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

What does it mean by "Consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary"?

Short history:

In 1917, Our Blessed Mother appeared in Fatima and told the visionaries that Russia must be Consecrated to Her Immaculate Heart. In union with the Pope and all the bishops in the world, Pope John Paul II failed to fulfill this specific request by our Blessed Mother. Now, this is the right time that Our present Pope, Pope Benedict XVI must fulfill this desire of our Blessed Mother. We from the Society of Saint Pius X, would like to invite every Catholic in the world to offer a Rosary to the Blessed Mother that the Holy Father in union with all the bishop in the world to consecrate Russia to Her Immaculate Heart.

For more questions about the Rosary Crusade, or if you would like to enlist yourself that you are participating in this historic event in the Church, please feel free to contact us on the contact details that we have provided. Or you may also visit this website:

Rosary Apostolate

We would like to invite every Catholic to pray the Holy Rosary. Moreover, we also like every one to join a specific Rosary Apostolate initiated by young traditional Catholics from UK. The Rosary Apostolate aims to:

1) To pray for all the young traditional Catholics in the UK- that they receive special graces to help them remain strong in the face of daily trials and temptations against the Faith- and to pray for conversions amongst the youth in the UK.

2) More specifically; to pray for the graces to establish events for the younger traditional Catholics in the UK; enabling us to organize weekends or single-day conferences, fostering devotion in an enjoyable social setting.

taken from: http://www.virgoclemens.bravehost.com/index.htm

I am hoping in the future that the intentions/aims for this apostolate would be of wider scope that does not only benefit the young traditional Catholics of UK but also all young Catholics in the Philippines and in the world under SSPX as our spiritual fathers.

HOW THE APOSTOLATE WORKS
Each member of the Apostolate prays one decade of the Rosary every day for the intentions of the Apostolate.

The Mystery they pray every day is assigned to them by myself, the administrator, and remains the same for one month.

Each member is part of a 15-person group. Therefore, within that group, one complete 15-decade rosary is being prayed every day to Our Lady.

On the First of each month, the Mystery rotates one place so each member prays a new Mystery. If, for example, you were praying the First Joyful Mystery in May, on the First of June you would begin praying the Second Joyful Mystery. If you were praying the Fifth Glorious Mystery, you would begin the Rosary again at the First Joyful Mystery.

Members receive regular emails reminding them of the monthly rotation and can check their Mystery here on the page "What's my decade?" Of course, anyone who wishes to remain anonymous may do so. Just let me know and I'll assign a membership number to you rather than using your name.

IF YOU WANTED TO JOIN THE ROSARY APOSTOLATE, PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR I WILL BE FORWARDING YOUR NAME FOR YOUR ASSIGNED DECADE. PLEASE DO JOIN.
